Woman breathing into device that can detect early stages of disease

Na-Nose

Imagine a smartphone app that could predict in advance when you were were coming down with a cold. Pretty convenient, right? Now imagine the same smartphone app could tell someone he or she was in the early stages of cancer… now that’s mind-blowing. Meet Na-Nose, the technological device that can detect oncoming disease while you’re still feeling healthy.

The Man Behind it All

Professor Hossam Haick of the Technion is an expert of non-invasive disease diagnosis, attempting to make the diagnosing process a little less painful for the patient. So far, he has won the Humboldt Research Award and was chosen as one of GOOD magazine’s Most Influential People of 2016.  Professor Haick’s breakthrough can help medical professionals all over the world treat patients in the earliest stages of disease.

Breathtec Biomedical Inc is collaborating with the Technion in order to further medical research and hopes to use this technology worldwide for early screening of medical conditions. Once this device is installed in smartphones, people won’t even need to go to checkups: your phone can alert you to any illness you may be coming down with.
