Customers can text message any cellular phone number in Israel, and an increasing number of cellular phones abroad!! Just like calls, text messages sent to numbers on the Cellcom network are cheaper than those sent anywhere else. However, incoming text messages are still free!!!*

Your cellular provider "at home" may allow you to send messages to Israel - however, you can send messages online for FREE using the ICQ service!! ICQ (which was invented in Israel!!) has options for downloading their program or using it directly from their website. Creating a user account with ICQ is free, and it's free to send/receive messages there as well! Your child in Israel can REPLY to ICQ text messages and write you back too, for just the cost of an international text message!
